I apologize for being very un-devoted in my blogging but as usual time has gotten away from me. Here is a quick catch up of all the things I've done since my last post.
The Holiday Season
Christmas came and went with a fabulous trip to BC to visit family. I had a wonderful time. I went up to Whistler to go snowboarding and took a day of lessons which tired me out but helped me a lot with my technique. I came home with bruises but it was well worth it. I also got to try out the new hot tub at my Dad's new house in North Vancouver. It was amazing!!!
Then I went back home to Toronto to see my Mum, Sister and Grandma. Christmas was prosperous as usual but my favourite thing was actually putting together the gift baskets I made for my family. Each one included: lots of baking (cupcakes, meringues, truffles, cookies and macaroons, all made by moi in a long day of battle with stoves and flour), a bottle of wine from Jost Winery in Nova Scotia, a photograph by me, and a few little odds and ends.
The rest of the holidays were spent lazing around home, visiting with friends and sleeping in lots. A very good time I have to say.
January: Back to school, back to the theatre!
On January 6th I flew back to Sackville and to lots of snow. Immediately I started in with classes and "more importantly" working on costumes for the big musical FAME! Though it was stressful at times, I loved the end result. Very 80's!
Next was The Lover and Crave. Two shows directed by friends of mine. I helped out by doing some fun sound design and taking photos of The Lover.
Next is Salad Days, a wonderful new musical by friends Landon Braverman and Jason Swan. A small devoted cast is working hard to present a staged reading of the script (by Jason) and the songs (by Landon). The show goes up March 6th and 7th inWindsor Theatre.
Then coming up in late March 17th-21st is Bat Boy: the musical! A hilarious telling of a story inspired by the World Weekly News. I will be yet again venturing into the world of costumes and make-up to help bring the story to life.
And last but definitely not least is Blood Relations, a great play by Sharon Pollock that tells the story of Lizzie Borden, the infamous late 18th century acquitted murderess from Fall River MA. More to come on that show in future posts.
Travel:
Currently I am visiting family in Boston and have had an amazing weekend. Lots of shopping and adventures to interesting places. Stay tuned for a post about my visit to the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast, the very house that the infamous murders were committed in.
In four days I will be jet setting again, this time off to London England to visit my Mum. This will be my first trip to London (besides a one night stay in a hotel outside Heathrow four years ago). I will try my best to post all my adventures there online as well.
Well, there was 2 1/2 months in the life of me in a few hundred words. Hopefully the next updates will be a lot more frequent.
Love and octopi!
